With the financial assistance of 41 Club members of Dubai, we (CTRT3) recently arranged the hand over of 5 fishing boats for Tsunami affected fishing families in Trincomalee. The project convenor Tr. Nemantha was involved in identifying the needy families, coordinating the boat construction according to the required specifications and budget and the logistics of arranging the boats to be available in the required areas.
Nick Dutt, Jim Berry and Geof Malone visited Sri Lanka during September 20th to 23rd and was accompanied by Tr. Nemantha and Tr. Chamika to Trincomalee (approx. 300Km from Colombo) where the handing over was done to the identified Tsunami affected families. The moment was a celebration for the families as well as all of us in tabling. A special appreciation should be given to Mr. Sharad Khan for the excellent hospitality extended during the stay in Trincomalee.
